Teenager denies killing girlfriend

A teenager murdered his girlfriend and then fried to burn her body. Belfast Crown Court was told yesterday.

A teenager murdered his girlfriend and then fried to burn her body. Belfast Crown Court was told yesterday.

The claim was made at the start of the trial of Mr Paul James Toland (22), who denies murdering his girlfriend, Ms Sharon Catherine King (19), in October 1992, at their flat in Duncairn Gardens in north Belfast.

Mr Jeffrey Foote QC, prosecuting, alleged that Mr Toland smothered her following an argument.

Mr Toland denies murdering Ms King. The trial continues today.
