A 17-year-old mother and her three-month-old daughter have gone missing in Dublin, gardai said today.

Janet Jackson was last seen with her daughter Aisling on Saturday on Eglington Road, Donnybrook. Gardai say there are concerns for the welfare of the child.

Ms Jackson is described as five foot two inches (158cm), of slim build with dark green eyes, a pale freckled complexion and dark brown/black hair. She usually wears light colored tracksuits.

"It is believed that Janet may frequent the Dublin 8 area and the Tallaght area," a Garda spokesman said.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the gardai at Kevin Street Station (01 6669400).
