Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is donating an autographed copy of The Kiss, (that famous photo taken in Eyre Square, Galway during the election campaign) and Labour deputy Pat Upton is giving his own painting, shown right. The occasion is the charity auction of items donated by celebrities in aid of Energy Action at the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre in Foster Place Dublin at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday.

British PM Tony Blair has sent a fountain pen, Tanaiste Mary Harney a painting - not her own work - Lord Mayor John Stafford has given his own drawing of horses drawing the ceremonial carriage, MEP Brian Crowley a photograph, the British ambassador, Veronica Sutherland, a painting of flowers she did herself, and Senator David Norris a poem.

Energy Action provides a free home-insulation service for older people.
