The battle against drugs should be given the priority it deserved rather than being contingent on other developments, according to the Democratic Left TD, Mr Eric Byrne.
"In areas of Dublin, youngsters can buy an ecstasy tablet for under £10, while a heroin deal is available for just £15," he said, warning that unless efforts were made to catch importers and dealers, the would drop even further.
