Taxi driver seriously assaulted

A 41-year-old taxi driver is in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Dublin city centre this morning.

A 41-year-old taxi driver is in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Dublin city centre this morning.

The victim was assaulted by another man at 12.20am on Pearse Street near the junction of Erne Street.

The attacker then walked away in the direction of Erne Street.

The taxi driver was taken to St James’s Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.
