THE Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants said the Budget did not go far enough in meeting the needs of business and stimulating future economic growth.

The society welcomed the reduction in the standard rate of corporation tax to 36 per cent, but pointed out that this compares with a rate of 24 to 33 per cent in Britain and 15 to 35 per cent in the United States.
