The Revenue Commissioners instituted legal proceedings against 774 people for failure to pay income and corporation tax last year, according to the Comptroller's report. A total of 362 cases was heard last year and fines imposed totalled £170,500. At the end of December last, 654 cases were awaiting court hearings.
