The Government's 10-year suicide prevention strategy includes more than 20 recommendations, the following of which will be implemented immediately:

establishment of a National Office for Suicide Prevention within HSE;

new services for treatment of self-harm in hospital A&Es;

development of bereavement support services;

a major national campaign to promote positive mental health.
