A Co Galway syndicate is believed to have won €2

A Co Galway syndicate is believed to have won €2.7 million following the purchase of a single Lotto ticket in Athenry, writes Lorna Siggins.

The ticket was sold at the Gift Shop in Northgate Street. The premises was taken over by Richard Burke from his parents five years ago.

The identity of the winner is not yet known but all numbers were selected – leading the shop owner to believe that a syndicate purchased the €16 ticket.
