GENEVA - A seven tonne white marble sculpture of a naked couple kissing has been removed from the heart of Geneva after the city said it did not want to become a dumping ground for unauthorised works of art.

Swiss sculptor Vincent Kesselring removed The Kiss from an embankment on the shores of Lake Geneva on Tuesday after a court dismissed his appeal for the international city to keep it as a present, Swiss media reported yesterday. He erected it in 1995 without permission.
