Brussels - The EU controversy over British and Irish chocolate, which contains vegetable fat, was finally resolved by MEPs meeting in Brussels last night. It will be given the all-clear as long as full details of its contents are added to the ingredients on the labelling in future.

Plans to force manufacturers to change the name of their chocolate products - to distinguish them from "purer" continental chocolate - were defeated.
