Supreme Court judge retires

Tributes have been paid in the Supreme Court to one of its judges, Mr Justice Donal Barrington, who has retired

Tributes have been paid in the Supreme Court to one of its judges, Mr Justice Donal Barrington, who has retired. After many years in the High Court Mr Justice Barrington served as a judge of the European Court of First Instance before being appointed to the Supreme Court.

Tributes were paid by the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Keane; the Attorney General, Mr Michael McDowell SC; Mr Liam McKechnie SC, on behalf of the Bar Council; Mr Patrick O'Connor, on behalf of the Law Society; and Mr John Dalton, Registrar of the Supreme Court.
