PARIS - Public support for President Chirac of France and the Prime Minister, Mr Alain Juppe, has risen for a third consecutive month from lows in late 1996, according to the Louis Harris institute for Valeurs Actuelles magazine.
The poll said 40 per cent of those asked had a good opinion of Mr Chirac's performance as president, with 54 per cent opposed.
