JAKARTA - The Indonesian rupiah plunged against the dollar yesterday following reports that President Suharto is to seek treatment in Germany for heart and liver problems. His spokesman insisted the 75 year old head of state was in good health.
Mrs Tien Suharto, the president's wife, died in April, adding to speculation about whether Gen Suharto would run for another term in 1998.
