A secondary school student found with cannabis was believed to be supplying other students in St Colman's College, Fermoy, Co Cork, according to Supt Eamon Carey following an investigation into illegal drug activity in the school.

The student was found with a small quantity of the drug but was believed to be selling it to students as young as 13. Canon Sean Cotter, principal of the college, which is also a boarding school, said they were cooperating with the gardai and were carrying out their own investigation among the 630 students.
