The three teachers at the 65 pupil Kilmurry National School near Ennis, Co Clare, are holding a one day strike today to protest against the Department of Education's decision not to include the school in its last two capital building programmes.

The two infant classes are being taught in a kitchen off the local community hall, 300 yards away from the main school along a busy and dangerous road, the principal, Mr Joseph Brady, said yesterday.
