A bottle filled with a cola drink exploded on being handed to a child, the Dublin Circuit Civil Court has been told.

Five year old Thomas Coyle's £30,000 damages claim against Dunnes Stores was adjourned to allow UK bottle supplier GAF Heley Ltd, of Essex, to be included as a co defendant in the action.

The boy's counsel told Judge James Carroll that Mrs Eileen Coyle of Rowlagh Green, Clondalkin, had bought the drink for her son at Dunnes Stores in Crumlin.
