A woman was taken to hospital suffering from facial injuries after a stone was thrown at a number 68 bus at Woodford, Clondalkin, Co Dublin, yesterday evening. A second woman also suffered slight injuries and was treated at the scene.

Four youths were later arrested by gardai and taken to Clondalkin Garda station for questioning.

A man who boarded a 78A on the Neilstown Road, also in Clondalkin, yesterday evening threatened the driver with an eight inch blade, forcing him to hand over around £20.

The man escaped on foot.
