Stabbing of woman in Meath investigated

Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a woman in her 60s was stabbed in Co Meath early yesterday morning.

Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a woman in her 60s was stabbed in Co Meath early yesterday morning.

The woman was stabbed a number of times in her bed at a house in Athboy at about 2.30am. She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, in Drogheda, where her condition was described as stable. There were no arrests reported.

“Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry and are not appealing for witnesses at this stage,” a spokeswoman said.
