Charlestown - St Kitts and Nevis remained one nation as Nevisians voted on Monday by nearly 62 per cent for leaving the federation but failed to reach the two-thirds majority needed for secession. The vote left the Caribbean islands united, as they have been since their independence from Britain in 1983.
