Colombo - The Sri Lankan government said yesterday that national elections would be held on October 10th.
Parliament will be dissolved at midnight, a week before the end of its six-year term, setting the stage for a political battle over a draft constitution aimed at ending a long ethnic war with Tamil guerrillas.
