London - The Spice Girls were ordered yesterday by a High Court judge to pay around £400,000 to the Italian motor scooter manufacturer they had sued for £218,000.

The Aprilia firm signed a contract with the group for more than £500,000 to promote its products. But the campaign turned into a "total marketing flop" when Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998.
