Spanish fisherman airlifted to Cork hospital

A fisherman was airlifted from a Spanish fishing trawler to hospital in Cork in the early hours of this morning.

A fisherman was airlifted from a Spanish fishing trawler to hospital in Cork in the early hours of this morning.

The Waterford Coastguard helicopter was called to the Monte Alen,90 miles off Mizen Head, when the man became ill on board late last night.

The man, who is believed to be suffering from vertigo, was brought to the South Infirmary in Cork city at around 2.30 a.m.
