Seoul - An unknown number of North Korean soldiers apparently crossed the tense Korean border yesterday, and South Korea said it shot dead a soldier who snaked his way through decades-old minefields. The North Korean soldier aimed his rifle at South Korean guards when he was challenged in the southern territory, a Seoul Defence Ministry spokesman said. "Our side fired about 10 rounds," killing the man, he said.
