BUDAPEST - Hungary's worst salmonella outbreak in decades, which claimed a life and affected some 5,000 people, could only have been criminal in origin, the manager of the catering unit accused of having caused the infection has said.

Analyses after the infection broke out in June found that the poisoning was caused by a strawberry soup which the company, Junior, delivered to hundreds of schools and nursing homes.
