A suspect device found under the car of a part-time British soldier in Co Armagh yesterday turned out to be an elaborate, hoax. About 20 families were evacuated from their homes in Richhill at about 7.45 a.m. after the soldier discovered the device. The area was sealed off and a British army technical officer carried out a controlled explosion.
