A soldier in his 40s has died in a shooting incident at Collin’s Barracks in Cork this morning.
The Defence Forces are treating the shooting, which happened at 8.40am, as a tragic accident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Gardai have launched a separate inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
