A soldier has been found not guilty by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a teenage babysitter in his Dundalk home.

The 20-year-old accused denied raping her but had earlier pleaded guilty to having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl on July 14th, 1998. He has been remanded on continuing bail.
