Madrid - Spain's Supreme Court has convicted two senior officials from the former ruling Socialist party in a high-profile trial on illegal party financing, court sources said yesterday. Senator Josep Maria Sala and former congressman Carlos Navarro were sentenced to three years and eight years in prison respectively for illegal association and falsifying documents in the Filesa case, named for the front company allegedly set up to funnel funds to the party.
