Dublin-based Simply Zesty has received a €500,000 investment from a UK based organisation, which has taken a minority stake in the firm.

The deal values the social media agency at more than €1 million.

The Oxford Research Agency (TORA) said its investment would give it the opportunity to "redefine research", allowing it to add new social media capabilities.

"This is a huge vote of confidence for our young company and we are delighted to be partnering up with such a well established and reputable company," said founder Niall Harbison.

Co-founder Lauren Fisher said the deal would tell a positive story to other business owners and those who work in social media.
