A viable explosive device was made safe in Antrim last night.

The small bomb was discovered outside a house in the Fountain Lane area yesterday morning after a telephone warning. The caller claimed he was a member of loyalist faction calling itself the Real UFF.

Army Technical Officers were involved in the day-long security operation at the house.

Elsewhere, police investigating dissident republican activity tonight arrested a woman in Dungannon. It follows the arrest of two men in the town on Tuesday.

Detectives have been given further time to question one of the men, while the other was released unconditionally.
