A leaky shoe nearly cost a Tipperary man his Lotto fortune earlier this week. The man, who won just over £286,000 in Saturday's draw, put the winning ticket in his shoe for safekeeping before travelling to Dublin to collect his winnings. Snow and slush leaked through the shoe and the saturated ticket had come close to disintegrating when he removed his footwear at the National Lottery offices.
