Smurfit Kappa Group (SKG) confirmed today that talks with Mondi Group were taking place regarding the sale and acquisition of certain assets.
SKG is negotiating the purchase of paper and packaging group Mondi's corrugated operations in the United Kingdom and the sale of its own European sack converting operations to Mondi.
The company said the transaction is subject to regulatory clearances, and said there was bno certainty that the deal would talk place.
SKG said it would make a further announcement would be made if appropriate.
