A six-year-old boy who, after breaking his leg, went on to help his school win the All-Ireland GAA Primary Schools league, was awarded £7,500 damages in Dublin Circuit Civil Court yesterday. Mr Aidan Redmond, for Daniel Jones, now aged 12, of Westpark, Tallaght, Co Dublin, said his leg had been broken by a large wooden spool, which had been rolled off a building site. Mr Redmond said McCabe Builders Ltd, Ringsend Road, Dublin, offered the settlement on the basis the spool had been taken from its building site through defective perimeter fencing on to a play area.
