Six handguns and a rifle have been seized by gardai in Co Kilkenny.
Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding a man barricading himself into a house in Graiguenamanagh made the find.
Gardai were called to the address at 7pm last night, with the man leaving the house voluntarily three hours later after he was spoken to by a number of people.
He was taken to hospital for medical attention. Three firearms and a quantity of jewellery was recovered from the house, with a further four firearms later seized at the scene.
A garda spokesman said the investigation is ongoing.
