One of the Siptu representatives on the newly established Dublin Airport Authority has resigned in protest at an agreement reached with Ryanair at Shannon Airport.

Mr Dermot O'Loughlin, who occupies one of the worker-director positions on the board, stepped down over what he said was a lack of consultation on a new agreement.

The deal, which allows airlines certain discounts on landing fees if they base planes at Shannon, needed the agreement of the Dublin board.
