SIPTU elects vice-president

SIPTU's new vice-president is Mr Jack O'Connor, the union's former regional secretary for the midlands and south-east

SIPTU's new vice-president is Mr Jack O'Connor, the union's former regional secretary for the midlands and south-east. Mr O'Connor secured 70,722 of the 105,844 votes cast. Ms Carolann Duggan, a Socialist Workers' Party shop steward, received 16,278 votes. Mr Jack Nash secured 12,785 votes and Ms Nuala Keher, 6,059.
