A High Court judge yesterday adjourned a dispute over the use of showgrounds in Gorey, Co Wexford, for six months to allow the people of the town to sort out the problems.

Mr Justice Barron said the grounds had never been properly administered. It was essentially a matter for the people of Gorey and the Department of Agriculture to reorganise the administration of the trust which controls the grounds.

He was giving judgment in an action by Gorey Rangers Association Football Club against the trustees and the State.
