Shots were fired during the armed robbery of a security van in Co Antrim today.

Shots were fired during the armed robbery of a security van in Co Antrim today.

The crew of the van were delivering cash to a petrol station at Tully Road close to the Nutts Corner Roundabout near Crumlin, when an armed gang struck.

Three shots were fired, said police, before the occupants of a red Toyota Carina made off with a cash box containing a substantial sum of cash.

There were no reports of any injuries.
