A number of shots were fired today at a halting site in Cork City, gardaí said.
The incident took place at around 7am in the northside area of Knocknaheeny.
No injuries were reported.
Officers from Gurranabraher station are investigating.
A forensic examination has been carried out, a Garda spokeswoman said.
