The High Court has reserved judgment on a challenge to the granting of planning permission for the Knocknacarra shopping development in Galway.

Mrs Justice McGuinness has reserved her decision on the application by Ms Anne Hynes (84), of Old Clybaun Road, Knocknacarra, to quash the decision of An Bord Pleanala, of June 25th, 1997, granting permission to Mr Patrick Joyce, a retailer, for the development of three houses, an apartment, a community centre, a shops/retail area, related offices and a petrol filling station at Shangort Road, Knocknacarra.

Permission for the development was refused by Galway Corporation but was granted on appeal to An Bord Pleanala.
