THE trial of Mr Michael Boyle (48), who is accused of the attempted murder in Rotherhithe, south London of Mr Tony Brindle, was adjourned for two days yesterday, before any witnesses had been called, because of a legal problem.

Last week the Old Bailey jury was shown a video filmed by undercover police officers which purported to show Mr Boyle firing three shots at Mr Brindle, then jumping from his van and chasing him before being himself shot by the police. Mr Boyle, of Tyrconnel Road, Inchicore, Dublin, denies the charge.

The prosecution also alleges that Mr David Roads (52), of Prince Road, south Norwood, and Chaffinch Close, Shirley, Surrey, acted as "quartermaster and armourer" for Mr Boyle in what it says was a "joint enterprise".
