Shatter calls for reform of courts

Radical reform is needed if the courts are not to be overwhelmed with the backlog of family law proceedings, according to Mr Alan Shatter, a Fine Gael TD and member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Family. There are, at present, over 1,700 judicial separation applications awaiting hearing in the Circuit Courts.
