Islamabad - A Pakistani anti-corruption court sitting in a heavily-guarded 16th century fort yesterday formally charged the deposed prime minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif, over alleged asset concealment and tax evasion, court officials said.

Mr Sharif, who is pleading not guilty, described the charges as "bogus" and alleged the army was manipulating the proceedings.
