Shannon port board approved

The Government has approved the establishment of a single port company in the Shannon estuary, and a five-member implementation board has been appointed by the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, Mr Fahey. He has named Mr Proinsias Kitt as chairman of the board, along with Mr Kieran McSweeney, chairman of the Foynes Port Company; Mr Michael Leydon, chairman of Shannon Estuary Ports Company; Ms Susanne Bugler, board member of the Shannon Estuary Ports Company; and Mr Kevin Sheehan, board member of Foynes Port Company.
