The Minister for Transport, Mr Brennan has asked Aer Rianta to delay the proposed sale of some 170 acres of land close to Shannon Airport in Co Clare.
An Aer Rianta spokesperson said it was now likely the sale, which was scheduled for next week, would be deferred until a review by the new airport authority.
Mr Brennan was speaking at a press conference following
the inaugural meeting of the Shannon Airport Authority in Clare.
