London - Thousands of convicted paedophiles are required since yesterday to register their names and addresses with the police. Under the Sex Offenders Act convicted offenders have 14 days to inform police of their personal details. Those who fail to register or to tell police if they move or change their names face the prospect of up to six months in prison and/or a £5,000 fine.
