Forensics experts searching the site where suspects in the Madrid bombings blew themselves up, rather than surrender when cornered by police, may have found the remains of a seventh militant, a forensic source said today.

The source said experts were "more and more convinced" that there were seven.

Previous reports had put the number of militants killed in Saturday's blast at the apartment in the Madrid suburb of Leganes at up to six. A police officer was also killed.
