At least seven people were killed and 16 injured when a coach collided with a truck and crashed onto rail tracks in southern Hungary today.

The bus had collided with a truck carrying cars after the driver lost control.

The bus was carrying 32 Romanian tourists and two drivers. The truck driver and six tourists died immediately.

Thirteen people were injured, including three who were in serious or life-threatening condition.

The injured were being treated in nearby hospitals in Szeged and Mako, close to the Romanian border in southern Hungary .
