Gardaí have lifted restrictions that were imposed on the M50 motorway this morning after a crash that left four teenagers injured.

A car carrying three men and a woman, all of whom are in their late teens, went out of control at around 2.00am.

All four were taken to Tallaght hospital; none of their injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

The northbound carriage of the motorway was closed for several hours between the Sandyford-Dundrum junction and the Firhouse exit. The situation has now returned to normal.

Gardaí later arrested a man (22) and two women, both 19, over the crash. All three have since been released on bail and are due to appear before Dun Laoighre District Court in relation to the crash on 16th February.
